When Erin + Darren first inquired about having us film and photograph their wedding day, they mentioned to us that they were planning to be married in a hockey arena.  An arena?!?  What?!?  How cool is that!  We, honestly, could not wait to meet this couple.  Fast forward to a year later, a gorgeous, sun-soaked autumn day in an arena on a Saturday in September.

We met Darren at his parent’s home in Innisfil, ON where he, and the boys, were hanging out.  They were all the picture of cool collectedness, as they printed their speeches, snacked on sandwiches (and cereal), and took last minute dips in the pool.  Darren put on his shirt and pants downstairs in his father’s immaculate Toronto Maple Leafs man cave.  Then, put on his cool green Converse, and smiled as he opened the many gifts (and card) from his lovely bride-to-be.





We headed over to Erin’s to meet the ladies.  Erin just returned from the salon and was ready to slip into her stunning, form-fitting, lace gown.  We went outside on the back deck with Erin, as her mother, aunt and bridesmaids tied her into the grogeous dress.  She looked incredible!  In the corner, Erin’s Dad worked hard designing a homemade bow-tie collar for the handsome ringbearer (their adorable dog, Buddy).  You could sense the excitement all around, as everyone readied for the ceremony.



We traveled to the ceremony location, the rink behind the Thornton Community Centre, where the couple would say their “I Do”s.  Hockey is an integral part of their relationship, so they couldn’t think of a more perfect place to share this special moment than at the rink.  Darren and the guys put on their boutineers and toasted the day in the locker room. The music pulsated through the air and pumped them up for the main event.

Erin’s father escorted her down the aisle, to an overjoyed Darren.  There, they voiced their personalized vows and commitment to one another.  Then, they kissed and headed to the penalty box for the signing of the documents.











After the ceremony, we stayed around the community centre grounds for a couple of moments with the newlyweds.  Then, we hopped in the party limo for the creative session.  First stop, a secluded trail in Barrie.  Next stop, a nearby barn.  And finally, ending the session at Barrie’s amazing waterfront, right by the Southshore Centre.

















Erin + Darren’s reception was held at the Southshore Centre in Barrie, ON. The bridal party was introduced, then it was time for toasts and dinner. Loved ones shared countless stories about the couple, and wished them both a happy future.  Erin + Darren danced their first formal dance as husband and wife.  A combined mother-son/father-daughter dance kicked the night into high gear.  The bar started serving drinks, the dance floor opened, everyone partied and congratulated the happy couple.













We love Barrie and were so excited to be capturing this wedding right in our hometown. Congratulations Erin + Darren! You two are “mint” to be!
