Calla + David | Wedding Photography Fusion in Collingwood, ON

It was a cold, windy, and rainy September morning, when we met Dave at Trout Hollow Farms (his mother’s house) in Meaford. But, the atmosphere of excitement in the air was far from cold or damp. We were greeted at the door by one of the many Mikes (three of Dave’s groomsmen were named Mike!). We quickly began talking, joking and documenting this special day. We captured some images of Dave getting ready and some candid moments with his groomsmen, as well. A drink and a game of “President” later, Dave and his closest friends were soaking in the pre-wedding excitement.

We left the men to finish their game of cards, and headed on over to see Calla in their Collingwood home. Immediately, upon entering the house, sounds of laughter were heard and the scent of hairspray was in the air. We all were caught up in the excitement, as the girls were getting ready! Each bridesmaid got her hair and makeup done. Calla casually reclined in her chair, laughing and glowing, while her hair was curled by the stylist. Then, it was time to put on the dress! Calla slipped into a stunning off-white gown. She looked so lovely! A vision of beauty and elegance. With Calla in her gown and her bridesmaids in timeless black dresses, the ladies got into their “party bus” and made their way to the ceremony.

Calla + David’s ceremony took place at Meaford Hall. Family and friends filled the seats to witness the union of the beloved couple. Dave, patiently, waited for his bride to walk down the aisle. Suddenly, the doors flew open, and following a procession of bridesmaids, the lovely Calla came into view. Her father escorted her down the aisle to a beautiful cello rendition of Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years”.

The two exchanged vows. They professed their love, pledged their loyalty and promised to continue the beautiful friendship that already exists between them. They were pronounced husband and wife, and sealed the deal with a kiss! Then, the joyfully walked down the aisle to a John William’s masterpice from “Star Wars” (David’s music selection). Following the ceremony, guests could travel downstairs to enjoy a variety of popcorn and Calla’s grandfather’s most heavenly pink lemonade ever to grace the Earth. (No, seriously! It was so good!)

We had a few moments with Calla + David, as they soaked in their first moments as newlyweds. We followed the wedding party to the Meaford Marina to take photos by the water. Grey skies threatened rain, but remained merciful. With wind blowing, waves forming in the water, and dramatic skies, these photos were nothing short of epic! We, then, traveled to Craigleith Station for the last of our formal bridal party photos.

After finishing up our photo session, it was time for the reception. Again, the atmosphere of love was thick in the air. The bridal party and guests took their seats and began to enjoy their meal and their time of community together, while celebrating the happy couple. Some of the bridal party came up to deliver speeches. It was clear how much each person adored and respected the newlyweds. They shared tales of long friendships – goods times and bad times. Each person gave their sincere well-wishes. The sense of loyalty, love and family really did go beyond the words that were spoken. It was a beautiful moment to witness as Calla + David celebrated with their loved ones.

After the toasts ended, guests enjoyed shortbread cookies (and other goodies) made by family members’ well-known recipes! Guests, also, could take home little jars of honey from Trout Hollow Farms as a party favor! How sweet! It was such a lovely day! Thank you Calla + David, for allowing us to capture your day and witness the special bond between you! Congratulations!
