We met Marlene + Matt last year and immediately fell in love with their engagement story. She was so excited to share it with us because she knew it would instantly touch our hearts.

If you’ve read our Flashback Friday blogs of how Paul and I met, you will recall that our very first date took place in the beautiful city of Venice. I brought my camera along for the day (of course, I mean it’s Venice!) and ended up dropping it down a set of stone steps, destroying the camera. Well, Marlene + Matt have a similar story. But to hear it, you’ll have to watch the video.

Typically, we don’t use an engagement story to drive a wedding film; however, their story is so captivating that we wanted to share it with everyone. I mean, not many men would heroically dive into the canals of Venice for the woman he loves. That is, not only a sign of gentlemanly character, but of genuine amour for his sweetheart.

We started off the day, separately, I was with the ladies and Paul was with the guys. Matt loves sports! In fact, he used to play football at Harvard, so they found one of his old school footballs to toss around in the backyard, while they waited to go to the church. Marlene spent the morning with her family, as they celebrated with food and port in the backyard. After she put on her gorgeous wedding gown, she came downstairs to open her card and surprise gift from Matt.

We all headed to St. Michael’s Catholic Cathedral in Toronto, ON for the ceremony. Then, traveled to Guildwood Park in Toronto, ON for their creative session.

Their reception was held at the stunning Liberty Grand in Toronto, ON. There, they dined, shared toasts, and danced the night away. It was an incredible event!

Marlene + Matt are a beautiful couple, both inside and out. They are truly two of the loveliest people you could ever meet. It was such a pleasure to be able to capture their wedding day and create this short film of their love story. Congratulations!
