Ten years ago to the day Mike + Tina met for the first time face-to-face, and today they celebrated their union with an entertaining, carnival-themed afternoon wedding on the grounds of a local ranch. These two love to laugh and know how to have fun! Mike + Tina wanted their special day to be a party and that’s just what it was. This is their wedding story.

To say that Mike + Tina’s wedding was not your traditional kind of wedding would be a huge understatement! From the fact that they helped one another get ready in the morning, to the time and theme of the event, plus how they led their entourage of guests to the ceremony site in a vintage car; this (as well as a number of other unique experiences) is exactly what set their wedding apart.

We started the day at the Corner Cut Salon & Spa in Elmvale, Ontario, only minutes down the road from Rounds Ranch (where the main event was scheduled to take place). Tina was in the chair getting her hair done, surrounded by seasoned ladies sharing their marital wisdom with the bride-to-be. Mike entered the salon and headed towards the barber shop area in the back to get vested up. Once finished, he and Tina slipped into the side parlor to get her into her lovely satin wedding gown. Now, they were ready to hop inside their chauffeured classic car and make their way to Rounds Ranch.

We traveled to Rounds Ranch for the processional. Mike, Tina and their loved ones gathered in the parking lot. Tambourines and noisemakers in hand, the couple led the parade (via vintage vehicle), as their guests walked along the path to the chapel in the woods. Mike + Tina professed their love for one another with hand-written vows and were pronounced husband and wife.

The guests jumped on a tractor headed back to the pavilion. We spent a few moments with Mike + Tinamay. One of our favourite moments from the day was when Tina presented Mike with letters that she had written to her future husband when she was only 18 years old, before she had even met him. So beautiful!

With tears in our eyes, we all headed over to the reception area to join the guests. Their was so much to see and do at Rounds Ranch, from the petting zoo to the giant air cushions for your jumping pleasure, to a corn make, zip lines, park slides and so much more!

After a buffet lunch, everyone headed outside to play carnival games. They even had duck races with bride and groom ducks, adorable right?! Every guest was given tickets to exchange for prizes and shower the bride and groom with colored powder (as per Holi festival, which is a Hindu spring festival in India, known as the festival of colours or the festival of sharing love). It was quite a fun-filled afternoon!
