Wedding Photography Fusion at Port Cunnington Lodge

Charlene + Justin are such a fun couple! You may remember them from their engagement session with their dog, Millie, back in September.
When Charlene + Justin asked us to capture their wedding at Port Cunnington Lodge, we were over the moon! Port Cunnington Lodge is, by far, one of our favorite venues for weddings. And you can see why!
We met Charlene at the start of the day, as she was getting last minute hair touch-ups from the uber talented, Krystie Ann (hair + make-up artist extraordinaire). We knew she was in good hands. Charlene was wearing the loveliest, cotton, floral print robe. She found them online and ordered one for her and all her bridesmaids to wear on the day. She opened her gift from Justin – gorgeous earrings – and, without hesitation, put them on to wear for the ceremony. A few moments later, she donned another pretty robe, this one was made of silk, before slipping into her dress. Love!
Charlene put on her gown and looked radiant! Did we mention her gown had pockets?!? Genius!
We headed over to the guy’s cottage, across the way, to see Justin, where he was enjoying a tasty treat from McDonalds with his groomsmen. It was soon time for them to get ready. Justin gave them each a brand new pair of socks to wear for the day. They all put on their comfy gifts, but paused when it came time for the bow ties, until da da da daaaaaa … here comes a wedding guest (a.k.a. 007, a.k.a. MacGyver) to the rescue! He knew how to tie bow ties AND fold pocket squares, in no time flat, like a boss.
Then, it was time for the first look on the bridge. Getting to see the excitement on their faces, when they saw each other for the first time was so touching.
Their creative session was held by the lake. It was a perfect spot for bridal party photos.
Their ceremony was held on the dock. There, they shared their heart-felt vows and received letters from their parents to place in a suitcase for them to open at a later date. It was a perfect day for a wedding on the water.
After the ceremony, we walked uphill to the reception lodge and saw the most amazing sight! It was a Pinterest dream creation come true. Charlene, along with Stacey Gemmill (her wedding coordinator), designed all the lovely little details of the room, from the Jenga blocks to the sweet table. They did an incredible job putting everything together. It all looked lovely!
The rest of the night consisted of hilarious speeches, huge laughs, tears of joy, great food, and the best dancing EVER (including a first dance, father-daughter dance, mother-son dance, mother-daughter dance, hip hop dance – need we say more?)! Charlene + Justin even flew in a DJ from Paris, France! How cool is that?!?
It is easy to see that Charlene + Justin are truly love in love, but most of all, they love to have fun together and with their family and friends. Which made this wedding day a blast!
Thank you Charlene + Justin for inviting us to your party! We wish you both all the best!
