William + Marion | Engagement Photography Session in Ottawa, ON

William + Marion are such an amazing couple! They found us through Marie-Ève + JF, whose wedding we shot this past May.

We chatted with William + Marion on Skype, since they live out of town, and were so excited when we finally met them in person!

We got the chance to spend some time with William + Marion last month when they were visiting their family in Toronto. They are from Ottawa, but like Marie-Ève + JF, are choosing to host a Toronto wedding. We spent the afternoon scouting locations for the wedding, and munching on delicious cookies from Sweet Flour Bake Shop!

They told us about their story, which involves a park in Ottawa that holds a special place in their heart. Since we were traveling to Ottawa for a wedding, we figured we would meet up with them and hold their engagement session in that park.



It was a beautiful night for photos! Marion loves the Fall, so we thought it would be the perfect season for their Ottawa engagement session. We headed over to Andrew Haydon Park, the spot where Will proposed to Marion this past Winter. Will loves this park. It means a lot to him because he used to ride bikes with his Dad in the area when he was a boy. Not only is this the place where the proposal happened, but Will asked Marion to be his girlfriend at this very same park, not too long ago.





That night, after he asked her out, he took her on a piggy back ride through the park. So cute!







After getting some great shots in the park, we carpooled to the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Gatineau, QC. Marion and I (Melanie) held our very own concert in the backseat, as we belted out the latest pop songs for the boys to hear. At the museum, we saw an amazing view of Parliament Hill and downtown Ottawa.





At the end of the evening, the four of us met up with Marie-Ève + JF for pizza at Za Za Za on Bank Street for dinner. We all had an amazing time!
